Welcome adventurers,
ArenaNet suprised us with 3 stress tests these pass few days. In the second stress test, I decided to do some New Krytan searching and here’s what I and some other members of the forums found.
Moocube sent us this blackboard, which can be found inside the Queen’s Heart Orphanage in the Salma district of Divinity’s Reach:
On the bottom left under the catapult we can read:
How to kill a Charr
On the right is a list of homeworks:
Today’s Homework
-Math
-Krytan
-Norn History
-Geography
I found this book on one of the many carts scattered through Divinity’s Reach:
This tombstone was featured in an earlier post but one of the word was unreadable :
This next one is called ”Tomb of the Unknown Soldier” which can be found on the top of the mountain behind the Ascalonian Settlement :
A lot of the letters on it are smudged off, so I had to guess what they were. Those letters will be in parentheses. Also I would like to thank Kaysee and Araswen for helping me deciphering this plaque :
Goo(dbye) Greg
We knew ye well
Y(o)u’(ve) gone to
See your sister
(ho)pe she’s well
This final tombstone is maybe one of the best New Krytan found so far :
I played WoW and look at me now.
If only I had been like you and stuck to playing GW2.
Enough said.
[Side note: ArenaNet informs us that this tombstone's post (reference about WoW) has been removed. "The text makes out-of-character references and does not belong in the game as it breaks immersion. It is not in keeping with our standards with regard to professionalism."]
Ps: Asuran is way more work than I thought it would be, so it may be a while until that article is published.
If you have some screenshots waiting to be deciphered, please send them to signs@chroniclesoftyria.com!

Do you know what the rest of the text on the blackboard is? Top left and around the pivot/lever, and then the extreme bottom right under the homework list?
Love the WoW reference though! xD

Unfortunately no. I’ve look at them countless time but I can’t figure out what they say.For the pivot/lever I guess its some mathematical equation or something because I can see a number in it but nothing more. And under the homework list I suspect it to be the name of the teacher but there is a really strange symbol in the first and second word that I never seen before or it could just be stylised new krytan which is harder to read. Thats why we need the high-res screenshot back so we can zoom in on those symbols without them becoming blurry.

Yea, I kinda knew it would happen. But didn’t thought it would take such proportions. I was kind of overwhelmed by the number of blogs and forums it got on and Anet contacting us about it.

What happened? I can see the side note, but were all the WoW fans QQing and ANet bowed to pressure, or did it go differently?

Rubi Bayer, ANet community person, posted this on Guru forums : For those of you who have not seen the update on Chronicles of Tyria, that text is no longer in the game. The text makes out-of-character references and does not belong in the game as it breaks immersion. Secondly, it is not in keeping with our standards with regard to professionalism and does not reflect the views of ArenaNet as a whole. The artist who was responsible for adding that text left the company a while ago.
